Ranked is a system in SMITE designed to provide higher quality matches for competitive players. The 4th season of competitive play began with the release of SMITE Version 4.1.3882 on February 1, 2017 and ended on January 30, 2018.
For information about the previous seasons see Season 3 Ranked, Season 2 League, Season 1 League and Pre-Season League.
Description[ | ]
Ranked games allow players to compete against each other in the most competitive environment. The match lobby uses a draft mode just like SPL games with a common team pool of 90 seconds that is used when a player's normal 30 second timer runs out. This pool resets after 3 players from each team has selected their gods and the second banning phase begins. The top rated player on the team is responsible for banning gods from selection and is always on the top of the list of names.
Season 4 this year has 3 Splits (Spring, Summer, and Fall) each lasting 2 months which allow players to compete for special rewards throughout the year for each split. Splits can award seasonal recall skins and Enigma Chest rolls and overall rewards for the entirety of the season includes a special limited God skin and ranked loading frame based on the total amount of wins earned by the player.
Ranked has 5 Tiers, with 5 Divisions each. Beyond that is a Master Tier that players compete in for the ultimate goal of becoming a Grandmaster by ranking among the top 25 Masters players. Players that are able to make it to Grandmaster at the end of each Split qualify for special gem packages ranging from 1500 gems to 3500 gems.
As you win, you earn Tribute Points. Earning more than 100 points will promote you to the next division. You may be promoted up by more than one division if your play has been exceptional. Losing Ranked games will deduct Tribute Points. If you lose enough games at 0 Tribute, you may be demoted one Division.
All Ranked Queues require you to be Level 30 but different Queues have different God Mastery Requirements. Conquest requires 18 gods Mastered while Joust and Duel require 12 Gods Mastered. Only Owned and Mastered gods may be selected in Ranked. Gods that are designated as New (having been released in the previous patch) are unplayable in Ranked until the next god is released.
Ranked matches may be queued for as a solo player or limited to parties of two for Conquest and three for Joust. Players queuing together must be within one tier of each other. Players still in Qualifying may queue together or with another player who is in Bronze, Silver, or Gold Tier.
