Achievement Combat NoEscape

Damage-over-time Abilities (also know as DoTs) refer to a class of abilities that, as the name implies, do not inflict all of their damage in one burst, but instead over several seconds. Each instance of damage during this time is referred to as a 'tick', and the frequency of ticks varies from ability to ability. These abilities are divided into two general categories: "Persistent DoTs", and "Area DoTs", depending on whether the effect follows its target, or only affects an area. These abilities usually have low power scaling, because the power bonus is applied to each tick.

Below is a list with every god ability with a damage-over-time component, along with some relevant information, sorted by type.

Persistent DoTs

This type of damage-over-time abilities apply a debuff to units that will continue to damage the target until its time expires. Usually only damage immunity can stop this effect.

Ah Muzen Cab Bees! 8 (+5% of your physical power) Every .5s for 2s 32 (+20% of your physical power) The DoT is extended by 1s by successful basic attacks against the target.
Ah Puch Fleeting Breath 25/28/31/34/37 (+15% of your magical power) Every 1s for 5s 125/140/155/170/185 (+75% of your magical power) Healing during this effect will incur an additional 20/30/40/50/60 (+10% of your magical power) per heal damage, up to 10 times.
Aphrodite Love Birds 15/25/35/45/55 (+15% of your magical power) Every .5s for 3s 90/150/210/270/330 (+90% of your magical power)
Arachne Venomous Bite 10/20/30/40/50 (+10% of your physical power) Every .5s for 3s 60/120/180/240/300 (+60% of your physical power) This ability also deals an initial 50/75/100/125/150 (+35% of your physical power) damage.
Ares Shackles 25/45/65/85/105 (+15% of your magical power) Every 1s for 4s 100/180/260/340/420 (+60% of your magical power) The DoT can be refreshed by a second or third shackle potentially increasing its duration to 8s. This ability only damages minions for a single tick.
Artemis Transgressor's Fate 25/40/55/70/85 (+30% of your physical power) Every 1s for 3s 75/120/165/210/255 (+90% of your physical power)
Bastet Razor Whip 25/45/65/85/105 (+25% of your physical power) Every 1s for 4s 100/180/260/340/420 (+100% of your physical power) Bleeding units take an additional 15% damage.
Fafnir Cursed Strength 50/70/90/110/130 (+25% of your magical power) Every 1s for 3s 150/210/270/330/390 (+75% of your physical power) This ability only deals damage over time when used in dragon form.
Fafnir Underhanded Tactics 40/60/80/100/120 (+30% of your magical power) Every 1s for 3s 120/180/240/300/360 (+90% of your physical power) This ability only deals damage over time when used in dragon form.
Fafnir Draconic Corruption 80/100/120/140/160 (+40% of your magical power) Every 1s for 3s 240/300/360/420/480 (+120% of your physical power)
Kali Lash 5/10/15/20/25 (+5% of your physical power) Every .5s for 3s 30/60/90/120/150 (+30% of your physical power) This ability also deal an initial 35/45/55/65/75 (+20% of your physical power) damage up to 3 times.
Khepri Rising Dawn 12/15/18/21/24 (+5% of your magical power) Every .3s for 3s 120/150/180/210/240 (+50% of your magical power)
Kukulkan Whirlwind 10/20/30/40/50 (+15% of your magical power) Every .5s for 2.5s 50/100/150/200/250 (+75% of your magical power) The DoT is refreshed by touching the tornado, potentially extending its duration up to 6.5s.
Loki Vanish 30/45/60/75/90 (+25% of your physical power) Every .5s for 2s 120/180/240/300/360 (+100% of your physical power) This ability only deals damage after making a successful basic attack.
Medusa Viper Shot 10/15/20/25/30 (+10% of your physical power) Every .5s for 1.5s 30/45/60/75/90 (+30% of your physical power) This ability can deal its damage 3 times.
Nox Night Terror 20/25/30/35/40 (+5% of your magical power) Every 1s for 5s 300/375/450/525/600 (+85% of your magical power) This ability also does an initial 200/250/300/350/400 (+60% of your magical power) damage.
Serqet Last Breath 38/57/76/95/114 True Damage Every 1s for 5s 228/342/456/570/684 True Damage This ability also does an initial 38/57/76/95/114 true damage. If the target dies, the DoT is spread to nearby enemies.
Susano Jet Stream 20/35/50/65/80 (+30% of your physical power) Every .75s for 3s 80/140/200/260/320 (+120% of your physical power) If this ability does not hit an enemy, it will remain as an Area DoT.
Sylvanus Wisps 10/15/20/25/30 (+10% of your magical power) Every 1s for 5s 50/75/100/125/150 (+50% of your magical power) This ability only affects gods.
Sylvanus Wrath of Terra 60/70/80/90/100 (+25% of your magical power) Every 1s for 5s 300/350/400/450/500 (+125% of your magical power)
Xbalanque Poison Darts 10/15/20/25/30 (+20% of your physical power) Every .5s for 3s 60/90/120/150/180 (+120% of your physical power) This ability also deals an initial 30/50/70/90/110 (+40% of your physical power) damage per dart, up to 3, with the second and third doing 30% damage.
Xing Tian Furious Roar 3% of max health Every 1s for 1/2/3/4/4s 3/6/9/12/12% of max health This ability also deals an initial 80/115/150/185/210 (+60% of your magical power) damage.

Area DoTs

This type of damage-over-time abilities creates an area in which enemies are damaged. [Movement abilities#leaps|Leaping]] over, or leaving, the area will end damage. It is unknown if the first tick is applied when an enemy enters the area, or as part of a cycle that began when the ability was cast.

Damage-over-time Items

There are some items that provide a damage-over-time effect.

This starter item deals 30 Physical Damage over 2s to enemies hit by its owner's damaging abilities. Up to 2 of these effects can occur on an enemy simultaneously.

MysticalMail T3 MysticalMail T3 Mystical Mail

This aura item deals 40 Magical Damage per second to enemies within 25 units.

Malice T3 Malice

This passive item deals 75% of its owner's Physical Power as Physical Damage over 3s, upon a successful Critical Strike.
