Avant Garde is an Australian eSports organisation and a former SPL team in Oceania region.

History[edit | edit source]

Avant Garde has an interesting dynamic to them this year (2015-2016). With star players such as Rowe (Jungle) and CaptCoach, who was the former coach of Titan who took 2nd place at last years SWC, the team feels as though they can make a large impact. Currently on a winning streak of 19 different matches, Avant Garde has gone undefeated all season long and look to carry that momentum into the tournament. The team has only made 1 roster change since their creation back in 2014 and if history tells us anything, it’s that teams that stick together, win together.

CaptCoach, who joined the team on August 16th, left Titan after being positioned more as a Manager for the team. He feels that the players on Avant Garde are “some of the most driven and motivated players that I have come across in my SMITE career”. We asked him what he thought about returning to the SWC for a 2nd year in a row and what his team is doing to prepare for such a big event:

"I am truly excited to participate in the SMITE World Championship for the 2nd year in a row. We, of Avant Garde are preparing hard for our competition both game play and strategy wise. Unfortunately we are the only team from the OCE region to qualify which results in less scrims than we would like, but the time we don’t spend scrimming we put into analyzing and preparing for our competition at the SMITE World Championship 2016. We have a rather rough bracket, so we are making sure we are as ready as we could possibly be."

On February, 29 the Avant Garde roster is aquired by Team Pandamonium.
